About Us

The Amazon Waters Initiative’s goal is to maintain the integrity of the vast, interlinked and dynamic Amazon freshwater system in order to support human wellbeing, wildlife and the environments on which they depend.

Amazon Waters is possible thanks to extraordinary collaboration among top scientists and practitioners, partnership with some of the most prestigious civil society and government organizations, and generous support of leading international cooperation agencies.
